Over the course of it’s more than a century-long presence in Lebanon,
the YMCA has transitioned from a youth organization to a hugely
successful national development NGO. Established in 1890, the YMCA has
establised a wide variety of programs that address a broad spectrum of
community needs, ranging from vocational training to relief in times of
crisis.
The YMCA of Lebanon is proud to be one of the most diverse
development NGOs in the country with its large team of experts,
volunteers, and technical consultants. With an approach to aid that
places no preference on religion or political affiliations, the YMCA has
become synonymous with impartiality, reliability and strong program
management.
Another successful strategy of the YMCA is its willingness to work
with communities to identify local needs and solutions. This methodology
assures that program beneficiaries are receiving the assistance that
they need and want to improve their overall quality of life. By serving
communities with the projects that they value, the YMCA creates a sense
of ownership and gains the trust of beneficiaries, partners and
counterparts in the region. |
